INK AND WATERCOLOR

I am taking the Wanderlust 2019 Class.  It is a year long class and I just finished Week 10.  The theme for March is rivers.

Today I made ink and watercolor collage papers on various different types of paper. I used rice paper, 100% cotton water color paper, Bee tracing paper and medical paper. I used sumi inks, acrylic inks and alcohol inks. Here is a picture of my finished page.

WATER COLOR SWATCHES

When a get a new set of water color paints I like to swatch them on a big sheet of paper or in my journal just to get a feel for what they look like.  Here are the Vintage Pastels from Prima done in my art journal.

I have done this on single sheets of paper and cut them up and used them as art cards with dangles  or stamps.

This time I decided to do a journal page with the dangles. I love how this turned out.  The water color paints are Prima Decadent Pies.

MY VERSION OF ART CARDS

Here are some art cards I did on stream yesterday.

I like to make art cards from from card stock that I use for my left over paint, ink or whatever when I'm working on an art project. I ended up saving the pieces of cardstock because I liked how they looked.

One day I decided I needed to do something with all these pieces of colorful paper.  This is were my theory that you can turn anything into art. I took the papers and started adding stamps, washi tape, more paint. I cut them up into different sizes because I did not want to end up with a bunch of ATC size cards 2 1/2 x 3 1/2. I rounded the edges. Inked them and voila Art Cards.

I use the art cards for gift tags, send them out with happy mail.  You could use them for anything. Stick them in a book as a bookmark. Put them in someones lunch. Just give them out to make someone smile.

So use your imagination and turn all those colorful pieces of leftover stuff into art!!!
